Calgon! ancient Chinese Secret

1)      Here is my list of what I believe makes me unique. First, I am very approachable.  In my experience people find it very easy to speak with me.  Second, I operate with discernment that either most people don’t have, or just chose to ignore.  That is, I find it easy to get people to open to me in conversation and help discover the root of a problem. Third, I am very knowledgeable.  I like to learn not only the way to do something right, but also the reason we do something a certain way.  My least favorite answer is “because we have always done it this way.” Fourth, I like to lead from the front, not push from behind.  To often I see people in leadership positions that only give orders.  In other words, I don’t ask someone to do something I would not do myself.  Fifth, I am very goal oriented.  I let to set a goal and complete tasks to achieve the goal.
2)      Here are my interviews broken down by each person interviewed.
a.       Mike – provided the following observations.  He said that I displayed the characteristics of Integrity, trustworthiness, and I was very financially apt due to an understanding of how finances work.
b.       Lisa – provided the following observations. She said my personality sets me apart from others.  As well as my sense of humor, my integrity, and my love for family.
c.       Jeremiah -provided the following observations. The Key takeaways from the interview were that I possessed a quality of taking a situational view on decision making.
d.       Laura – provided the following observations.  That I possessed excellent organizational skills, and a situational leadership style with the ability to overcome barriers.
e.       David – provided the following observations.  He said that I possessed an attention to detail, and I was very task and detail oriented.
3)      For my first characteristic I said that I was approachable, which is close in comparison to having a good personality.  Next, I said that I portrayed a skill of discernment which is along the same lines as decision making with a situational view.  The third trait I listed was my knowledge.  I am not sure if it matches with any of the interviewee observations.  My fourth trait was leading from the front.  Which is close to situational leadership style that can overcome shortcomings.  Lastly, I said that I was goal oriented, which shows up in several of the interviews.  I agree with the feedback I received, and I would not change anything from my previous list.

  1. I think most would call that "leading by example," hahaha. You have very good human capital, and it shows in what those who know you best say about you. I could be wrong, but I associate the "discernment" quality you mention with being committed to the truth, although with added intuition. I hope to add more intuition and wisdom to my blunt and truthful qualities as I age and have more life experience in general. Thanks for letting us get to know you! -April

  2. Hey Dan. The first thing that caught my attention (not only because it was written first) was that you are approachable. I think that is something important that not a lot of people pay attention about themselves. Also, I like the way you learn not just to know but to understand the process. Overall great post and thanks for sharing.
