These are good things from my adventure
List of 10 things possessed and VRIN analysis
1.
Social Capital
a.
I have several friends and family that work
within the financial industry. I do not
see this opportunity as a very high rank on the analysis. I am sure that numerous persons within and
outside the industry have or know several individuals as well.
2.
Financial knowledge
a.
Anyone that does not operate their personal or
business finances in the red would be in direct competition. That is, most Americans have knowledge of how
finances work.
3.
Long-term vision
a.
I generally make decisions not based on the here
and now, but my decisions are based on the concept of how this affects my
future. In other words, I can start
taking steps now to plan for later. Again I believe that this does not necessarily set me apart.
4.
Servant leadership experience
a.
I have spent my whole career in the public
service sector. I understand what it
takes to deliver both positive and negative information to the customer.
However, numerous individuals have experience in servant leadership.
5.
Tech-savvy
a.
I am familiar with the use of diverse types of
electronic devices and social media.
Even though I am familiar, I am not the only person.
6.
Location
a.
My location is a very fast paced and
fast-growing area of Tampa Bay. But
other financial firms are also rooted in the general area.
7.
Goal Oriented
a.
I like to set goals and work towards their
accomplishment. I can project out larger
goals into smaller tasks that work towards overall completion. I am sure there are numerous other
entrepreneurs in the area that are also goal-oriented. My capability is not unique.
8.
Articulate
a.
This resource directly complements the previous
resource of Goal Oriented. The ability
to correctly describe a service, or target, and how we will reach the goal
together. I do not see this ability as
being unique.
9. Integrity
a.
I exercise integrity in all that I do. It is not just good to do what is right, you
must continually strive to do what is right all the time, even when you are the
only person that will know. In other words, I will remain a fiduciary to my client
even if it costs me money. For instance,
most financial advisors will tell you that they are in a fiduciary relationship
with their clients, because if they make more money for the client, they make
more money. That is true when you are
paid a percentage, but it does not cover the financial advice of wisdom. Only the products that they sell. Working in the financial industry with
integrity will prove beneficial, as you will provide a better service to your
client that is not based on the monetary return that you receive. And if the return and service are genuine and
positive, word of mouth referrals will far out benefit any commercial
advertising. This is my unique opportunity against my competition.
10.
Team building experience
a.
Over the years I have built experience with team
leadership. I continually strive to
empower my team mates to exercise sound judgement in decision making. I also provide feedback on their decisions
and the outcome. I will use my experience in this environment to work together
with my clients. I do not see this as
being a unique ability.
Good to see you have 10 transferable skills utilized for your company. Not all are created equal and some possess more strength than others. But financial capital is a difficult one to have for a young company, good to see you have that one and have it as a resource at hand. The ability to articulate is also an important skill as well.
ReplyDeleteHello Dan. You have a lot of exceptional resources for your venture. It looks to me that integrity is your top resouce. And I really appreciate that you give genuine service a top priority, because it is something I look for when scouting for new places. The fact that you have your location as a resouce, shows that you really researched if your venture would fit and is needed in your environment. It it seems to be promising.
